- Measure the nipple before feeding, when it is in a stimulated state.
- When testing hole sizes, slide the tool down to the base of the nipple.
- Measure the diameter of the nipple at its widest point, excluding the areola.
- The recommended fit is a hole size where the circle’s edge comes close to the base of nipple without making contact.
Note: A nipple shield should not cause squeezing or compression; comfort is essential.
